Tour operating team freelance database
As the industry readies itself for travel in a post pandemic world we are experience strong demand for tours to operate in the second half of 2022 and through 2023/4.
To meet this demand, we are in the process of establishing a ‘Tour Operating Team’ freelance database to ensure we have a team of committed professionals available to come onboard and join us on our journey to deliver service and excellence.
Bartelings clients & their guests
Our tour operator clients are currently UK and US based and are established, well known specialist operators in the upper end of the ‘escorted touring sector’. Their clients are typically, well-travelled AB1’s drawn from professionals and academics and escorted journeys are typically planned along routes focussing on historical and cultural interest.
Clients typically fit in an age band between 65 and 80 with a reasonably high proportion of single and in particular, single female travellers.
Tour costs are in the USD 50,000 - USD 70,000 per person region with a typical duration of 3 weeks.
Tour Logistics Director person specification
Our people play a pivotal role in the delivery of an Escorted Journey by Air to ensure every detail and every day exceeds guest expectations. Working with the members of the Tour Operating Team (TOT) – which includes the air crew and the clients tour managers – the role of the Logistics Director is to ensure a seamless experience, delivered through anticipating problems behind the scenes. This is very much a “doing” role and suits people who are hands on and ready to do anything it takes to make sure things run to plan.
Key attributes for this role include:-
Personable - you are representing Bartelings and the tour operators brand to our clients guests all the time, 24/7. You need to be able to communicate and get on with people from all walks of life.
Authoritative and Diplomatic - you will need to be able to ‘make things happen’ even in countries that are so laid back they are almost horizontal. You will be dealing with Government and other senior officials and need a calm yet assertive disposition.
Organised - you must be organised and be able to take informed and sometimes uninformed decisions achieving outcomes that are in the best interest of our clients and their guests.
Tenacious - you will be operating under pressure and won’t give up until the job is finished and completed.
Effective communicator - communication is key in ensuring the TOT ( tour operating team) are full briefed at all times and able to adapt and adjust to the challenges of operating complex cross border tours.
